Tempus Fugit
Seems like so much time passes between my entries nowadays. I hardly have time to keep up.

Fall has come and the leaves are almost off all of the trees. Which is kind of sad because that means that winter is coming. Only 6 or 7 months until Spring (at least here, anyway).

I really shouldn't complain because before I know it Spring will be here. I just don't like -40 degree weather with a windchill factor of -50 or -60. And driving in all of the snow can be a pain. Especially when I travel so early in the morning.

Theatre season is back in full swing and I'm going to audition for a play in Edmonton. I'm really nervous. I've been rehearsing my monologue and re-reading the play. I guess I'm nervous because I just want the part so bad. But, nervous is good. Means I care.

Other than that, I'm getting ready for the vocal competition in November. I have to decide by the end of the week which two songs I'm going to sing. And then I have to prepare for the question and answer portion of the competition. Not to mention picking my wardrobe and choreographing my stage presence. Just waiting to see what my vocal coach thinks of the songs I've selected.

And work is really busy. I've been working alot of extra hours lately and re-certifying in some of my courses.

Well, work calls. To many things going on these days. And most of them aren't that fun. Oh, well.

Take care,
B.

Interesting. You sound exhilarated, nervous, happy, tired and sad all at once. But I guess that's autumn for you. I personally hate that it is so dark when I wake up in the morning now. I like it better when I can get dressed without having to turn on the lights... not a nice way to wake up! But that's just me.

So, anyway, good luck with the audition and the vocal competition! Can you tell us what you're going to read and sing, or does that mean bad luck?

Take care!

Well, maybe I'm a little scattered right now. But, as you said, that's autumn.

I actually love the change in seasons. The landscape is so beautiful with all of the leaves and the harvested fields. But, I'm just not crazy about cold. Winter would be great if it didn't get so cold (well, and if it didn't snow on the roads or sidewalks).

I get up every morning at about 5 am. It's not bad in the summer, but right now it's pitch black until about 7:30 am. Somehow I just don't feel awake in the dark.

I've been practicing quite a bit and trying to get some rest in between. Now is a terrible time of year (cold and flu season has arrived).

Because the competition is Country based, I had to choose only Country selections. And I can only choose 2 songs. The ones I've narrowed it down to are: "I Try To Think About Elvis", "How Do I Live", "My Baby Loves Me", and "A Girl's Gotta Do". From there I'm going to let my vocal coach decide. After that it's simply a matter of selecting my wardrobe.

As for my audition, I'm about 1/2 way through reading the play. It's been a busy week. I have two different monologues that I've chosen. You never know if they're going to want a second. I've decided my first monologue will be Viola from Act 2, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night and the second, or optional, monologue will be Lady Macbeth from Act 1, Scene 7 of Macbeth.

I'm really excited about the audition. The chance to do Shakespeare is exhilarating!

Anyway, I have to go. Take care and I will most definitely keep you up to date!

B.
