No rest for the wicked

Well, it's been a busy few months. Things at work have been picking up lately.

I've been busy with spring cleaning and yard work and  I haven't had time to work on the cars. I have one working vehicle right now and one that I need to get on the road. My brother and I have decided to work on it ourselves to save a little money. At least all of the work that needs to be done we can do ourselves.

I had an audition the other day for a national commercial. First audition my agent has put me up for in a year. Why have an agent if they're never going to submit you for anything? A friend of mine recommended an agent in Calgary, but with everything going on right now I won't be submitting my C.V. until the fall.

My dad had surgery and is doing well. He's a diabetic and has been having circulation problems in his right leg. They did an angioplasty to open the artery, but there was a lot of damage due to the decreased circulation. Luckily, they only had to amputate his big toe. He's recovering, but it'll take a while before he feels well enough to really use his foot.

My brother and I have been helping our dad and step-mother around the farm. Neither one of them is in great health. One of these days they're going to have to sell the farm and move into town. But they're both very stubborn.

Anyway, I won't be doing any performing until the fall with everything going on at work and home. I'll try to update with what's been happening, but it's an awful lot to write.

Take care.

B.

Hey B!

Thanks for your swift answer. I hope by now your dad is feeling better and that you have had some time to adjust to your new job.

I've just (yesterday) come back from two weeks of vacation. Very nice! Most of my colleagues are still on vacation though and I have the kind of work that depends on others giving me things to do, so work is slow now.

Hope all is well! //Gigglepriest

Yes, my Dad is doing alot better.  However, the other day he was cleaning out the kennel and tripped.  On his way down he hit his left shin against a metal bar and stubbed the amputation site against a piece of wood.  He was furious.  He's pretty bruised up, but there's not much that I can say.  I've told him to cut back on things, but he's stubborn.

Hope your vacation was nice.  Must be nice to come back and be able to just ease into everything.  I'm not taking any vacation time until October.  I'll be going to Colorado.  Can't wait.

Anyway, take care.  Hope it doesn't start to get too busy for you.

Ouch, poor dad. But in this case it might be good that he is stubborn: I would be afraid to use the foot and think that it would hurt too much.

And it's not too busy at work. Nothing happens. Except that I overslept this morning and woke up when they called to ask where I was... :-(  I hate when that happens. It makes the whole day weird. (BTW, it was years since that happened to me last time. It's not like I do it often. I think that the body is reacting to the change between vacation and work. It's so easy to get used to sleeping when you want and having no rules to follow. I wish I could have another couple of weeks off...) Colorado sounds very nice. You've got something to look forward to then!

Take care! //Gigglepriest

Hey B!

Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well? And that your trip to Colorado was a success.

Just wanted to say Happy New Year! and good luck with whatever your plans are for next year.
